Downloads in your website's media
hub allow users to access guides, reports or
larger pieces of content you have created in
return for proving their email address and
information. They are a great way of tracking
who is accessing your content and how valuable
it is to your users.
To add a new download, within
the Vennture Media Hub,
navigate to the media items
section in the left hand menu,
then click on the 'Add Media'
button and select 'Download'
from the drop-down menu that
appears.

This
opens up the next window where
you can populate all the
relevant fields for your
download - each of these are
explained
below;
- Title: The title of your download
- Sticky or Featured: You can tick
one or both of these to have your
download displayed in certain places
on your media hub webpage - learn more on
these here

- Post Date: You can use the date selector to choose a post date for your download or type the date manually in the DD/MM/YYYY format. This date can be in the future or you can backdate your posts if you wish
- Image: This is the header image that appears at the top of each download post - this should ideally be uploaded in aspect ratio of 1920x1080 pixels

- Author: To choose the author for your download, click on the field then select the relevant person or people from the drop down list. If you want to add a new author in, you can do this by clicking on the + icon next to the field which gives you further fields to fill in to create a new author ready for you to use.
- Tags and Categories: Like the
author field, you can select multiple
tags and categories for your download
by selecting from the drop down list.
If you want to add new tags or
categories in, you can use the + icon
on each of these fields.

- Overview: This field is used to give a short overview of the document the user can download and read in full.
- Content: This is where you can
add any longer content to support your
download or to give more information
to the user on what the document is
about. Don't add all your download
content in here or you'll be giving it
away for free! This field
is equipped with a full
text
editor so you can style up
your content how you
wish.
- Document: Use this field
to
upload the document
you want a user to
download, making sure
there's no special
characters in the name
of the document. This
appears as a short
form on the website
asking users for their
name and email address
in return for
accessing the
document. The file
size upload limit for
any document is
10MB.
- Meta Data: There are three
fields for you to fill in here - meta
description, meta keywords and meta
canonical. These are not required but
are good SEO practice to have them
filled in.
You will need to set up the
email template for the download in the CMS
and then you'll be
able to see the data on
who has accessed your
download in the email data
section of the CMS - learn
