Categories are used to organise your media content into groups for your users to find relevant information more easily. They are displayed on your media hub as a section showcasing content within your categories as well as being listed at the top of the page.

Categories are managed within the Vennture Media Hub, accessed from the left hand menu. If you want to add a new category in, in the categories tab click the Add button in the top right of your screen then you'll need to fill in the fields in the window that opens up. The mains one to fill in are Title and Slug, the other fields are optional.

There's no limit to the number of categories you can have, just make sure you consider your users and use categories that group your content in the best way for them to limit the number, otherwise you can end up with a long list of categories with minimal content in each.

You can delete categories if you no longer need these, but make sure you have updated any items using the category before you delete as they will be removed entirely from any items in the media hub.

If you have a country folders on your website, then you are able to translate your media hub items to the localised language and also able to translate categories used for these items. To translate a category, navigate to the categories section within the media hub and against the category you want to translate select the corresponding country folder.

This will open up a translations page to be populated showing a side-by-side comparison of the existing category and the translated content you are populating.



You can also use tags within your media hub to organise your content in a similar way to categories.

To delete a category, you need to click the bin icon next to the name of the category in Vennture Media Hub. You may be presented with a pop-up preventing you from doing this if the category is in use for any media item - it will need to be removed from use everywhere before you delete.

The best way to find all content tagged up with a category is to go to your media hub page on your website and use the category filter to locate all items using the particular category you want to delete. You can then update each of these items manually or use the export/import feature to do this in bulk.
