There are a couple of situations where you may receive an error whilst trying to publish part of your website, whether it be an individual page, the whole site or files.

Publishing Block

The most common error that comes up is "Publishing has been disabled"

This message means that a member of the Venn team has locked the site to prevent someone from accidentally publishing it while we work on something. This could be anything from implementing your new Mega Nav or updating scripts on the site to ensure everything runs as efficiently as possible.

Typically, when a publish block is required, we will communicate to you the length of time this will be active so that you can plan your work around this.

Should you need a publish block removed from your site, please submit a request with our support team, and we can review the publish block and take appropriate action.

A user is already publishing

You may encounter a message similar to the following indicating that a page/file could not be published due to another user already publishing the content:

This can happen for one of two reasons:
  • Another user is already publishing the same page/the whole site.
  • The publish function is stuck (See below)
Please Note: If you accidentally refresh this page or lose connection during a publish, you may find that you are unable to re-publish content as the system will think you are already publishing it. If this happens please contact our support team so that we may reset the publish feature for you.
